2016 | Skripsi | FMIPAMerapi volcano located in Central java and some in Yogyakarta is one of the most active volcano in Indonesia. The Volcano has repeated episodes of dome growth and collapse. From earthquake data catalog, after relocation process, the spread of hypocenter location from two zone is almost vertical. There is two zone, VTA zone is at 2,5 – 2,7 km deep, and VTB zone is at 0,5 – 1 km deep, between two zone there is an aseismic zone that identified as shallow magma storage, and the zone deeper than VTA zone is identified as deep magma chamber. After focal mechanism process, the results VTA zone is dominated by Normal oblique fault. This fault might be originated by increasing in horizontal tension when the magma rose from deep magma chamber to shallow magma storage. As for VTB zone the dominated fault is reverse oblique fault. This fault might be generated by horizontal compression related to pressure decrease in magma conduit due to extrusion of lava and gas. The pressure is related to depth, as depth get shallower, the pressure get decreases. This zone is related to growth of lava dome.
