2016 | Skripsi | FMIPAMigration process has been conducted on the synthetic 2D seismic data which made based on Marmousi2, a completed elastic model made by Martin et.al. in 2006. This research has aim to compare the results of two migration methods, Kirchoff and Finite Difference methods, and to know about the strenght and the weakness of each migration method. The migration process which has been conducted is the migration after stack or Post-stack Time Migration (PoSTM) using Kirchoff and Finite Difference methods. Kirchoff and Finite Difference migration are conducted to correct the diffraction effect which seen on seismic data, in order to produce the real image of subsurface. Various preprocessing methods such as muting, filtering, and the other, had applied on the data before the migration process. The velocity used in PosTM process is RMS velocity. The results of preprocessing are the reduced and filtered noises and also the fixed reflectors on shot gather data. From those two methods, it can be obtained that diffraction effects had been removed. The reflector quality of Kirchoff PoSTM section is better than Finite Difference PoSTM section. Moreover, Kirchoff PoSTM section is better to correct the reflectors with steep declivity than Finite Difference PoSTM section.
