The electrochemical degradation of Indigosol Violet dye in batik wastewater using graphite electrodes has been done. The wastewater samples obtained from Home Industry in Karangkulon Village, Wukirsari, Imogiri, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The purposes of this research were to determine the concentration of the electrolyte solution, acidity, contact time and current density in the degradation of dye compound in batik wastewater and determine the percentage of effectiveness in electrochemical degradation of dye compound in batik wastewater using graphite electrodes. This research was started by determining of maximum absorbance wavelength and standard curves on pH 4, 7, and 10. These steps followed by the determination of optimum conditions, which included contact time during the process of electrolysis, NaCl electrolyte concentration, acidity of solution, and current density. The electrochemical degradation process was then applied to batik wastewater at achieved optimum condition. The results showed that the maximum absorbance wavelength of Indigosol Violet was at 517 nm and optimum conditions for electrolysis at initial concentration of 20 ppm were concentration of NaCl electrolyte at 2 M, pH solution at 10, current density of 75 mA, and contact time electrolysis at 30 min. The effectivity obtained from electrochemical degradation process of Indigosol Violet dyes in batik wastewater using graphite electrodes was 32.65%.
