The production process of solid objects i.e. concrete, on generally can not produce perfect products, there is always a product that has a defect. The defect is usually located inside the concrete so it can not be viewed directly visually. NDT (Non Destructive Testing) is a method for detecting defects on a solid body. Tests with this method is done without damaging the solid objects. Method can be used to test the quality of solid objects. This study aims to determine the effect of defect width (in the form of holes) in a solid object to ultrasonic waveform displayed on the oscilloscope. The method used by the author in this study is pulse-echo method. Frequencies used by 40 kHz resulting from frequency generator (AFG). Frequency of AFG entered into the transformer continued to ultrasonic transmitter. Transmitters emit waves into a test object, experiencing a wave of reflection because of the holes against a solid object. Wave reflection from solid objects received by the receiver and amplified using inverting amplifier circuits. The result of the wave form of amplitude displayed on the oscilloscope. The results of this study indicate that the width of the hole is inversely proportional to the value of the amplitude of waves generated and directly proportional to the value of attenuation (attenuation) wave). The error of measurement at this study is 11,93%.
