The result of its estimation illustrated in the form of curves is then interpreted. This research discusses how Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method of the Weibull and Poisson Distributions are employed to examine the earthquake frequency by estimating its parameters, which is then utilised to choose average (mean) of the sample. Moreover, the mean of the population of data of frequency is applied to pick the energy of Richter Magnitude Scale. In this research we observe data of aftershock frequency every six hours, from one case study occurred in Nabire regency, Papua province in 2004. After conducting compliance test by Chi- Square, it is true that the data represents the Weibull and Poisson pattern. It is clearly seen that the greater frequency of the earthquake was between 03.00-09.00 in the morning than the other period of time, where the scale parameter (scale b) ' 47.4489 and (shape c) ' 1.3941, mean ' 43.2749, magnitude (M) ' 6.0253 Richter scale, energy (E) ' 75.1755 Joule. It is believed that the result of this research may suggest solutions to minimising drawbacks caused by the earthquake.
