Research to determine the quality of groundwater in Karang Asem area, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta has been conducted. This research used groundwater from resident houses in six sampling locations. This groundwater test was examined to physical parameters, which are scent, total dissolved solid (TDS), turbidity, temperature, refraction index, surface tension, conductivity dan viscosity. Chemical parameters tested were pH, water hardness, metal content such as iron (Fe), and chemical compounds such as detergents, nitrites (NO2) dan nitrate (NO3). The biological parameter tested was coliform content. Our results show that groundwater in Karang Asem is contaminated by nitrate and coliform whose dose exceeds the threshold level referred to the data from the Minister of Health of Indonesia No.416/Menkes/Per/IX/1990.
