2016 | Disertasi | FMIPAThis research is purposed to determine the effect of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) in changes of membrane properties (hydrophobic or hydrophilic) and define morphology, permeability, and perselectivity of membrane. Polysulfone (PSF) membrane is made by electrospinning method using PSF solution with 20wt% concentration. Ratio of PSF membrane with PAN polymer addition (PSF/PAN) are 100:0, 70:30, 50:50, 30:70, and 0:100 with 10wt% concentration. Furthermore, is also made test equipment for membrane filtration process. Membranes are identified by FT-IR, while the membrane surface morphology was observed by SEM. Permeability and perselectivity of pure water from membrane are determined by cell separation of oil/water. The most optimal PSF/PAN membrane is membrane with ratio 50:50. The addition of PAN can reduce contact angle that change hydrophobicity of membrane become hydrophilic. The size of nanofiber become larger (swelling) after used and the occurrence of fouling around the pore causing blockage of pores. It is that causes decrease in permeability but perselectivity increase.
