2016 | Disertasi | FMIPAPreparation and characterization of Ni and NiMo catalyst impregnated on mesoporous silica (SM) templated by gelatin of bovine bone as well as its application in hydrocracking of waste lubricant has been evaluated. Extraction of gelatin from bovine bones were carried out using acid and alkaline solution. Bovine bones were immersed in acetic acid (CH3COOH), NaOH and HCl solution followed by hydrolysis at 50, 70 and 90 oC. The gelatins were analyzed by FTIR spectrophotometer and electrophoremeter. The SM sample was sinthesized by solgel method at pH 4 and calcined at 550 oC. Mesopore material was analyzed by FTIR, GSA and TEM. The monometal (Ni/SM) catalyst was prepared by wet impregnation, while the bimetal catalyst (NiMo(c)/SM) was prepared by coimpregnation and NiMo(s)/SM by sequential impregnation. The catalysts were oxidized using O2 gas followed by reduced using H2 gas then characterized according to adsorption ammonia base, AAS, SEM EDS, SAA, and gravimetric method. Catalityc Activity was tested in hysdrocracking of waste lubricant at temperature 450 oC with H2 flow rate 15 mL/min for 120 min and catalyst to feed ratio of 1:10. The result showed that maximum gelatin yield, was of 10.69 wt.% extracted at 90 ?C and have amida I spectrum. The SM sample had pore diameter, spesific surface area and pore volume of 7.98 nm, 550 m2/g and 1.10 cm3/g, respectively and showed wormhole-like structure. Total acidity of SM, Ni/SM, NiMo(s)/SM dan NiMo(c)/SM samples were 5.1; 7.1; 6.7 dan 7.3 mmol/g. The highest liquid product was achieved by NiMo(c)/SM (43.22 wt.%) with the selectivity for gasoline and diesel fractions was 5.80 wt. % and 37.36 wt.%.
