PERSAMAAN NIKOLAEVSKIY SEBAGAI MODEL UNTUK SOFT-MODE TURBULENCE (SMT) DAN GELOMBANG SEISMIK TEKTONIK; NIKOLAEVSKIY EQUATION AS A MODEL FOR SOFT-MODE TURBULENCE (SMT) AND SEISMIC WAVE TECTONICS

The dynamics of non-linear systems in nature much modeled by differential equations. One of the non-linear differential equations is Nikolaevskiy equation. Nikolaevskiy equation can possibly model the dynamics of Soft-mode Turbulence (SMT) and tectonic seismic waves. Nikolaevskiy equation is a differential equation that describes the longitudinal wave in the viscoelastic medium. Nikolaevskiy equation is computationaly solved using a pseudo spectral methods combined with Exponential Time Differencing (ETD) method. The results of Nikolaevskiy equation are analyzed using autocorrelation and compared with the results of autocorrelation analysis on SMT and tectonic seismic waves. All results of autocorrelation data correspond with Kohlrausch-Williams-Watts (KWW) equation to obtain the value of correlation time ( KWW ? ) and Kohlrausch exsponent (? ). The results obtained show that there is a possibility to model the SMT phenomenon using Nikolaevskiy equation
