MANAJEMEN POWER PADA STASIUN CUACA MENGGUNAKAN METODE SLEEP-AWAKE; POWER MANAGEMENT ON WEATHER STATION BY USING SLEEP-AWAKE METHOD

However, sometimes the weather station is installed far from main electrical power source, which means its power source depends on battery. Some weather station may be supported by external charging device, but still the energy source of the weater station must be used wisely. One of many solutions that can be used for managing the energy usage of the weather station is by implementing sleep-awake method on the weather station’s software. This method will determine the work schedule of the weather station into two phases. First phase is awake or when the weather station fully works reading the weather condition from the attached sensors. Second phase is when the weather station puts almost of its component into sleep state. The result shows that the power used by weather station is reduced by implementing sleep-awake method on weather station. On awake phase the power that needed by weather station is 1,48 watt. On sleep phase the power that needed by weather station is 1,31 watt. The power usage of weather station is reduced by 12%.
