KINERJA SPEKTROMETER FOTOAKUSTIK UNTUK DETEKSI TINGKAT KONSENTRASI GAS AMONIA (NH3) PADA PERNAPASAN MANUSIA DI TEMPAT PEMBUANGAN SAMPAH TERPADU (TPST); PERFORMANCE OF PHOTOACOUSTICS SPECTROMETER FOR DETECTION CONCENTRATION LEVEL OF AMONIA GAS (NH3) ON HUMAN BREATH IN THE LANDFILL

2016 | Disertasi | FMIPAPhotoacoustic (P.A) method has been used to detect level of ammonia concentration on air ambien in landfill and exhaled breath on people working in landfill (scavenger). Gas retrieval method was done with offline and non invasive way. Photoaocustic spectrometer performance generated adequate high resonance frequency, it was (1650±5) Hz with quality factor was (14±1) and absorption line of biomarker gas were at 10R14, 10P14 and 10P20. The limit detection for ammonia gas in the system was (71+8) ppb. Monitoring of the daily routine of ambien air showed a consistent increase by the the early afternoon, but was followed by a gradual decrease towards late afternoon. The highest ammonia level in Landfill was (1,685±0,001) at 14.00 while the lowest ammonia level was (1,241±0,001) at 08.00. Average ammonia concentration on scavengers were found to be significantly higher than average ammonia concentration on control volunteers either at early morning, mid day and post-day. In addition, no correlation could be found between ammonia concentration in air ambien and in exhaled breath.
