2016 | Skripsi | FMIPAThe filming process of Ca-alginate or Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) by the addition of poly (butilen itaconate) and cross linked poly (butilen itaconate)-glycerolas plasticizer has been performed. The purpose of this research was to improve the physical and mechanical character of Ca-alginate films with the addition of poly (itaconicbutilen), cross linked poly (itaconicbutilen)-glycerol and CMC. The filming process of Ca-alginate / CMC by casting method, mixing Na-alginate with 0,1 M CaCl2 to obtain a Ca-alginate solvent. The solvent was mixed with various CMC concentration 9:1; 8:2; 7:3; 6:4 and 5:5 (w/w). The solution of Ca-alginate: CMC with a ratio of 6:4 (w/w) was added plasticizer poly (butilen itaconate) and cross linked poly (butilen itaconate)-glycerol with various concentration of 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15% (w/w).Then, the solution was poured into a mold and placed in oven for 2 hours at 75° C to form a film. Afterwards, the characteristics tests were performed that included tensile strength, percent elongation, WVTR, FT-IR, and biodegrading test. The optimum concentration of plasticizer poly (butilen itaconate) was 3% (w/w) with 6,22 MPa of tensile strength, percent extension 15,91%, and 0,66 g mm m-2 h-1 of WVTR. The concentration of cross linked plasticizer poly (butilen itaconate)-glycerol was 15% (w/w) with the results of tensile strength 13,21 MPa, percent extension 5,45%, and WVTR 1.6359 g mm m-2 h-1.
