2016 | Skripsi | FMIPAAbenaki Formation in Penobscot Field is dominated by carbonate rock layers that may contain hydrocarbon gas. This research has been conducted to obtain porosity estimation of the target area based on the relationship between acoustic impendace and porosity. Correlation of both parameters are linear that is acquired through crossplot analysis. Model based acoustic impedance inversion is implemented as input in linear equation for porosity estimation. Based on the result, acoustic impedance values in carbonate rock are estimated around 12500-19000 (gr/cc)*(m/s) and porosity values are predicted between 0-8%. There are areas with Southeast–Northwest trending that have values ranging from 5-8 % which is indicated as potential reservoir with poor porosity. This area is associated as isolated reef.
