ANALISIS SPEKTRUM BUNYI KEMATANGAN BUAH MELON PADA BERBAGAI TINGKAT KEMATANGAN MENGGUNAKAN SOFTWARE SPEKTRUM ANALYZER SPECTRAPLUS-DT; SOUND SPECTRUM ANALYSIS OF MELON FRUIT RIPENESS AT DIFFERENT LEVELS USING A SPECTRUM ANALYZER SOFTWARE SPECTRAPLUS-DT

A reaserch on sound spectrum of melon fruit at different levels of ripeness by using spectrum analyzer software SpectraPLUS-DT has been done. This research aims to measure dominant frequency, bandwidth, and quality factor on melon fruits. The method used is by knocking the fruits at three different spots and then recorded by recorder that have been tested. After recorded, the recording files analyzed using SpectraPLUS-DT software. At a different level of ripeness that its density value is calculated by measuring the diameter and weight of melons. The result is value of dominant frequency at each three different levels are 281±20 Hz, 220±20 Hz, 90±25 Hz. Bandwidth value at each three different levels are 25±8 Hz, 24±7 Hz, 20±8 Hz. Quality Factor value at each three different levels are 12±4, 9±2, 5±2. The density of melon fruit at different levels are 912±1 kg/m3, 917±1 kg/m3, 931±1 kg/m3. These results prove that the value of density, frequency average, and the quality factor of the average can be used as a reference factor melon fruit ripeness and is associated with the density value.
