2015 | Skripsi | FMIPAStudy of total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of heartleaf madeiravine (Anredera cordifolia (Tenore) Steenis) leave extracts have been performed. The aim of this study was evaluating the phenolic content and antioxidant activity of heartleaf madeiravine leave extracts. The first step of this study was extracting the heartleaf madeiravine leaves powder using percolation method, the second step was partitioning the crude extract using n-hexane and ethyl acetate as the solvents. The total phenolic content of the sample was analyzed using Folin-Ciocalteu method and its antioxidant activity was determined using DPPH method. The result showed that the phenolic content of semipolar (ethyl acetate) fraction was 70.25 mg/g GAE as the highest one and IC50 value of polar (methanol-water) fraction was 136,594 mg/L determined as the best antioxidant activity. Preparative thin layer chromatography isolation of ethyl acetate fraction brought five separated spot identified as fraction I-V. Each fraction was predicted using GC-MS instrument. Fraction I consisted of 17 components with stearamide as the major component, fraction II consisted of 11 components with stearamide as the major component, fraction III consisted of 5 components with ?- ethoxybenzaldehyde as the major component, fraction IV consisted of 8 components with ?-allyl vaniline as the major component, and fraction V consisted of 27 components with eucalyptol as the major component.
