SINTESIS KEMOSENSOR ANION SENYAWA 4-(2,6-DIFENIL-PIRIDIN- 4-IL)-2-METOKSI-FENOL DAN 4-(2-AMINO-6-FENIL-PIRIMIDIN-4-IL)-2- METOKSI FENOL DARI VANILIN; SYNTHESIS OF ANION CHEMOSENSORS 4-(2,6-DIPHENYLPYRIDINE- 4-YL)-2-METHOXY-PHENOL AND 4-(2-AMINO-6-PHENYLPYRIMIDINE- 4-YL)-2-METHOXY PHENOL FROM VANILLIN

Compounds 4- (2,6-diphenyl-pyridine-4-yl) -2-methoxy-phenol (2) and 4- (2-amino-6-phenyl-pyrimidine-4-yl) -2 methoxy-phenol (3) have been synthesized from vanillin. Synthesis of the target compounds 2 and 3 was done through the intermediate chalcone with yield 77% and 39%. Test as anion sensors was performed in DMSO-water solvent towards F-, Cl-, Br-, CN- and H2PO4 - anions. Compound 2 makes a color change from colorless to yellow on the addition of CN- anion so does compound 3. UV-Vis spectrophotometer analysis resulted in compound 2 changed ?max from 320 to 370 nm while compound 3 changed ?max from 350 to 380 nm upon addition of anions CN-. The detection limit of chemosensor compound 2 is 4.11x10-6M. Compound 2 also shows a fluorescent chemosensor with "ON-OFF" system.
