ANALISIS KINERJA MEKANISME TUNNELING IPv6 OVER IPv4; PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF IPv6 OVER IPv4 TUNNELING MECHANISMS

2015 | Disertasi | FMIPAIPv6 address allocation aims to overcome the limitations of IPv4 addresses. One method of IPv4 towards IPv6 transition is tunneling IPv6 over IPv4 (IPv6IP). There are several types of tunneling. This study aimed to test the performance of tunneling IPv6IP manual, auto, GRE, 6to4, and ISATAP using FTP as a means of testing the application so that it can obtain the best tunneling method for FTP applications. Research done by connecting the server and client computers that are separated by 3 pieces cisco router. Address the relationship between the computer and router using IPv6, while the relationship between the router using IPv4. Each router is connected to the computer do the tunneling setting. On the computer server software dijalakan FTP server and on the client computer do download 5 files with different sizes. During the download process to analyze the performance of tunneling includes Transfer Time, Goodput, and Delay. From the test results we concluded that the best method of tunneling for FTP application is GRE, ISATAP, and Auto. 6to4 tunneling and manual methods are less advisable because the value of its performance about 20% of GRE, ISATAP, and Auto.
