2015 | Disertasi | FMIPAAdsorption of navy blue and yellow F3G on calcined Mg/Al HT has been studied. Mg/Al HT was synthesized by co-precipitation method from a mixed solution containing magnesium nitrate and alumunium nitrate salts with molar ratio 2:1 and followed by calcination at temperature 450 oC for 3 hours. The calcined Mg/Al HT was used to adsorp single dye (navy blue and yellow F3G) to obtain optimum condition which include acidity, contact time, and concentration. The obtain optimum condition was then applied to the adsorption of a mixed dye (navy blue and yellow F3G) with weight ratio 1:2 and that of waste water of fabric dying. It has been also studied the ability of adsorbent synthesized and calcined Mg/Al HT to reused. The result showed that the optimum adsorption condition of navy blue and yellow F3G on the calcined Mg/Al HT was at pH 4 an interaction time 120 minute. The Adsoprtion kinetics of the two days (navy blue and yellow F3G) on the calcined Mg/Al HT followed well the pseudo second- orde kinetic with rate constants 11,568 dan 11,752 g/(mol.min), respectively. Adsorption of those dyes mached Langmuir isoterm model with adsorption capacity for nav blue 0.797x10-3 mol/g and that for yellow F3G 0.580x10-3 mol/g. For the adsorption of mixed dyes, the calcined Mg/Al HT i.e. 95.64 mg/gwas bigger adsorption capacity of synthesized Mg/Al HT i.e.10.91 mg/g. After used and regenerated throught calcination, the adsorption of calcined Mg/Al HT increased from 95.64 to 97.46 mg/g and that of synthesized Mg/Al HT enhanced from 10.91 mg/g to 94.55 mg/g.
