2015 | Disertasi | FMIPADistribution and transportation network allows products to move from production sites to customer location which are often limited by the distance and the number of vehicles or in supply chain management is known as the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP). 'ATTA Belitung Sport' (ABS) is a distributor of sports shoes in the Belitung island. ABS is responsible to distribute sports shoes for all sports shoes sales agents in the District of Belitung and East Belitung. In the process of distribution, ABS still has a problem, that is the limited number and capacity of vehicles for distribute it. The ideal distribution route combines two or more customers with regard to transport capacity of vehicles. The method can be used to design the ideal distributor is saving matrix. This method is combines the destination point that has the greatest value of savings and the amount of transport does not exceed the capacity of vehicles. Based on 10 data of distribution process on ABS, saving matrix method with nearest and farthest insert to sort vehicle visit the retailer, provides reduction on the number of routes about 24.27%, reduction on the amount of distribution distance about 23.50 % and reduction on the distribution costs about 23.93%.
