PENGENALAN WAJAH MENGGUNAKAN METODE EIGENFACE UNTUK PRESENSI MAHASISWA DI LABORATORIUM UNIT LAYANAN INSTRUMENTASI FMIPA UGM

Face recognition is a field of research that has been developed at this time where the application can be applied in student attendance recording system. The purpose of this research is to build a facial image recognition software with Eigenface method that will be implemented as presence in the Ulins FMIPA UGM Laboratory. This system apply the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method for face recognition techniques to obtain eigenface from each facial image. The process of recognition or matching two facial images on this system using the method of calculation of the distance of two vectors, namely Euclidean Distance. The stages that use on this system is acquisition, pre-processing, feature extraction, identification, and determine the owner’s face. Testing uses 25 faces with 2 different testing face recognition. The results showed the use of eigenface can give a good accuracy. Testing with 25 train images, the accuracy rate is 80%. Then, testing with 75 train images, the accuracy rate is 92%.
