Analysis of five different feature extraction methods for tea sample based on sensor array response on electronic nose has been done. The different type of tea have similiar aroma, therefore to distinguish the tea based on it’s type, the pattern recognition using electronic nose is needed. In order to be distingushed, the feature of signal respons of electronic nose must be extracted first. The use of different feature extraction methods can cause the different result to feature extracted from tea sample and probably not all of this feature extraction methods fit to extract the feature of tea sample. Feature extraction program with five different feature extraction methods has been made using LabVIEW including its graphical user interface. The parameter of the feature is taken from 12 different gas sensors. This program can produce the result of feature extraction from the signal response of 12 gas sensors with five different methods. Those five different methods are difference, relative, fractional change, integral, and lorentzian. Each feature extraction result from different methods will be classified using PCA. The result of this research show that the feature extracted by using the integral method can completely classified by PCA. The cumulative variance percentage result of three main component with covarian matrix type is 96,1%. The result of the feature extracted by difference, lorentzian, relative, and fractional change methods can also be clasiified by PCA but it is not completely classified.
