2015 | Skripsi | FMIPAEigenvalue problem is a problem of how to determine eigenvalues and eigenvectors for a square matrix. Eigenvalue problem can not always be solved easily analytically so needed approximate solution to solve them. At present, it has developed various methods to find approximate solutions of eigenvalue problem numerically, some of them are power method and Jacobi method. In this final project, will be discussed about an approximate solution of eigenvalue problem using the power method and Jacobi method. Power method to determine the largest eigenvalues and smallest eigenvalues and eigenvectors assosiated with the eigenvalues, while Jacobi method to determine all the eigenvalues of a square matrix that is symmetric. Moreover, there are an example of the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem are solved using the inverse power method then compared with the analytic solution.
