KLASIFIKASI JENIS BUAH KURMA MENGGUNAKAN TEKNIK PENGOLAHAN CITRA DIGITAL DENGAN METODE JARINGAN SARAF TIRUAN; CLASSIFICATION OF TYPE OF DATE PALM FRUIT USING DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING TECHNIQUE WITH ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK METHOD

The date palm is one of the fruit of which is very popular in indonesia, even more during Ramadhan. There are lot of the kind of the date palm existing in the market. Therefore, classification should be undertaken so that each type of the date plam was not mixed each other. Curentlly the classification of kind of date palm is still undertaken manually by humans, consequently the classification is unfavourable. Assosiated with this issue was needed a system that could indentify the kind of the date palm using digital image processing and artificial neural network. The image of the date palm taken with cell phone’s camera and it is processed using Visual Studio, and than it is classified using Matlab. Digital image processing used to exctract feature color, while an artificial neural network is used for classification the kind of the date palm. This study using 100 kind of the date palm for data training and using 100 kind of the date palm for data testing. The classes of the date palm divided by into 10 classes such as Ajwah, Barhi, Dabbas, Elwaha, Golden Valley, Iranian, Lulu, Naghal, Rabbe, and Ruzeis. The parameters used to input an artificial neural network is the value of red, green, and blue. The best model of network configuration backprogation for the sytem classification of the date palm is by rounding off the value of the extraction of 4 points behind a coma, the learning rate as mush as 0,1 number of neurons in the hidden layer as much as 20 neurons and value of mu (?) is 0,001. With the configuration, the system able to classify the type of the date palm with level of succes of 84% from 50 test data of the date palm.
