Aerial image stitching system based on center surround extremas (censure) featute detector algorithm or better known as the STAR method is a system designed to merging the image. The output of this system is the image with a wider coverage. In this case the chosen image of urban areas as object to be used in research. This system is designed to be able to merge two aerial images using Censure/STAR, Upright-SURF, and KNN algorithm. STAR method used bi-level kernel that has been simplified as a filter, determine the accuracy of the features on a larger scale for the process of computation on all features for all scales, and then determine extreme value stretching from one side to other in one scale, then applied into grayscale images. This extreme values obtained from the point of the feature is thebn extracted using Upright-SURF. The result of the extraction of features from both the image then matched using bruteforce and KNN. KNN works by finding the points closest (the neighbors) to the point of reference. Matching results are then combined using warpPerspective, then the output is obtained in the form of imagery with a combined view of the input images. System performance tested with a wide variety of rotation, scale, and translation. In the process of testing can be seen the influence of the change of rotation, scale, and translation against the number of features that match and the result of stitching image. This can be known from testing the limits of a minimum amount of features so that image can be merge well, the minimum features is six, minimum translation is 20% horizontal and 10% vertical respect to the up or down, rotation from 0 to 360 degrees, and scale of 40-210% of the reference image scale.
