Utilization of video data generally does not optimize the existing information. A number of cameras are installed in public areas in order to monitor the activities of a single person as well as group of people which can be stated as object. There occur several incidents that are having negative impacts caused by the act of a person or group of people. Those incidents that negatively impact can be overcome by observing the object’s movements which are monitored by the security cameras. This study purposes to conduct the detection of objects’ movements regularity. The optical flow method generates information of pixel transfer distance or can be called as objects displacement, afterwards to be processed into information of objects transfer speed. Additionally, this system also aims for determining the approximate total objects using frame difference method. Frame difference is utilized for segmenting between object and its background. The study shows that optical flow method can detect the objects movement in a good result. In addition, the frame difference method can assist the process of segmentation between moving objects and the background also with good results. Determination of the MC (Moving Constanta) parameter becomes a major factor in detecting that the regular movements do exist or not. In the dataset ‘Pos_Jaga’, MC value that can be used is 1.3 while for the dataset ‘Perkelahian_Jalan’ is 1.2. The main factor to calculate the total objects is also defined by the parameters determination, namely MOA (Minimum Object Area), Pmax (nearest object area from the camera), and Pmin (farthest object area from the camera). Level of accuracy for the total objects calculation in the dataset HOA reached 93.64% and 94.95% for HOB dataset.
