In contrast with Fourier transform, wavelet transform with wavelets as its kernels can give temporal informations of a spectra. Wavelets has been applied to many areas such as speech recognition, ECG signal processing, and surface penetrating radar. Almost all research in wavelet applications made use of Matlab’s wavelet toolbox. Because Matlab is a proprietary software, alternatives are needed. Haskell is a pure functional programming language which is cross platform, open source, and free. This paper implements a simple wavelet toolbox in Haskell that can be used as a baseline for future wavelet toolboxes written in Haskell.
