2015 | Disertasi | FMIPAAcute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) or acute lymphocytic leukemia is a type of cancer of white blood cells (leukemia). Acute means that the cancer cells grow rapidly and can be fatal in a matter of months or even weeks if not handled because it spreads quickly into the bloodstream and other vital organs. This research aims to develop a method that can detect the disease ALL based on microscopic images of blood cells. Tests will be carried out using a 260 image obtained from ALL-IDB2 with color deconvolution approach as a method for segmentation of white blood cells and Radial basis Function Network (RBFN) as a classifier. White blood cells features are need to be extracted in order be trained on RBFN to detect ALL. These features consist of Geometric feature consisting of a area and circularity and gray feature consisting of Integrated Optical Intensity (IOD), Average Optical intensity (AOD), Mean Gray Level and Standard Deviation of Gray Level. The results showed that the color deconvolution method can segment the white blood cells properly. The use of data from cameras and different camera settings when the image acquisition process became the dominant factor determining the success of the method developed for the detection of ALL. Based on the results of the testing that has been done RBFN accuracy in detecting ALL amounted to 98.21% when using all the test data and 100% while using test data derived from the model of the camera with the same settings when the image acquisition process
