The growth of smartphone users in Indonesia showed significant improvement. Many benefits are obtained by using a smartphone to support its operations without limited space and time. There are several kinds of operating systems that are used for smartphone platforms, one of which is an operating system based on Android. This operating system is open source so many mobile device manufacturers that use and develop applications based on Android. Given the scale of android based smartphone users push a wide range of institutions to develop android based applications to support its activities. In this study, the development of digital libraries android based applications aimed at closer and allow a user to access information held by the library. Digital library application development using Java language (android) and a webservice s using php and mysql With the simplicity principle the implementation results of digital library android based application showed that the system is able to find the information documents relevant to the keywords entered.
