Batch experiments were studied for glucose adsorption-desorption on different types of synthetic humin. The goal of the studies was to establish a synthetic humus rules on soil organic matter retention. Three synthetic humin HU- 1, HU-2, and HU-3, as a bioadsorbent, extracted from synthetic humus (HS-1, HS-2, and HS-3) by 0.5 M NaOH solution. All of synthetic humin were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and surface area analysis. The effects of various parameters such as pH, initial glucose concentration, and contact time of adsorption were studied. The residual of glucose concentration on solution were analyzed by UV-Vis spectrometry through Nelson-Somogyi method. The characterization data showed that all of three synthetic humin were mesoporous matters that contain stable carbon in form of aromatic structure with abundance of oxygen on their surface contains silicate and atom Fe. The adsorption data were best fitted with Freundlich isotherm model and the process followed a pseudo second order kinetic model. The adsorption capacity for HU-1, HU-2, and HU-3 were found to be 4.813 mg g-1, 5.00 mg g-1, and 4.94 mg g-1 with rate constant by 8.42×10-5 g mg-1 min-1 , 3.343×10-4 g mg-1 min-1, and 5.304×10-4 g mg-1 min-1, respectively. Adsorbed glucose by synthetic humin can not desorbed to environmental spontaneously on experiment conditions.
