MODIFIKASI METODE ANALISIS ASPARTAM SECARA SPEKTROFOTOMETRI UV/VISIBEL; THE MODIFICATION OF ASPARTAME ANALYSIS METHOD BY UV/VISIBLE SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC

In this research, the modification of aspartame analysis procedure by add of extraction step using ninhydrin reagent by UV/Visible spectrophotometric have been carried out. To generate valid procedure, the optimization of analysis condition and validation have also been done. Further, the procedure was also applied to determine of aspartame concentration in soft and energy drink. The research results showed that analysis procedure with extraction, giving measurement results more sensitive than without extraction. With extraction, at 20 ppm giving absorbance 0.282 and without extraction, absorbance 0.279 produced at high concentration 600 ppm. The optimization of analysis condition is pH 3.5, 0.188 mmole ninhydrin, and 0.5 mL of chloroform for analyze 1 mL of 20 ppm aspartame. In the range of aspartame concentration 5-40 ppm giving linear absorbances with correlation coefficient (r) 0.998. This procedure giving limit of detection mean minimum concentration that can detected is 0.552 mg/L and limit of quantification mean minimum concentration that can quantitative defined is 1.840 mg/L. This procedure also giving 0.0138 mg-1L for sensitivity, precision 0.79%-2.03%, and accuracy 99.40%. The application of this procedure of the samples, giving measurement result produced on energy drink with range 235.65- 288.75 mg/g sample and on soft drink 168.61-331.60 mg/g sample.
