SINTESIS KOMPOSIT NATA DE COCO-ZEOLIT DAN KAJIAN DESORPSI TERHADAP LARUTAN ETANOL-AIR; SYNTHESIZE OF NATA DE COCO-ZEOLITE COMPOSITE AND ITS DESORPTION STUDY ON ETHANOL-WATER SOLUTION

2015 | Skripsi | FMIPASynthesize of nata de coco-zeolite composite has studied as water adsorbent in order to remove water from ethanol solution. Nata de coco was used as matrix and zeolite was used as filler in the composite. Nata de coco-zeolite composite was synthesized from nata de coco as raw material, natural zeolite and water that mixed using blender and then dried in 70 °C. The composite characterization was carried out by FTIR, XRD and tensile testing machine. The water absorption quality was also tested on various zeolite weight composites. FTIR characterization result shows the presence of nata de coco and nata de coco-zeolite bonding in the composite. XRD characterization result shows the zeolite is in the inside of nata de coco. In this research, increasing zeolite weight was decreasing the composite tensile strength, reducing water absorption and decreasing ethanol desorption rate. The ethanol purification testing shows the increasing ethanol solution from 40.00% to 47.05% by non-heating pervaporation.
