Rice field area mapping system using aerial photography on a rice field area is one of the systems that utilize digital image processing with Otsu’s method thresholding process as rice field detection, with its paddy’s life phase is post harvest phase, whereas HSV threshold as color detection for the early paddy growth phase, the vegetative growth phase, and the generative growth phase. In this Otsu’s method, is used a dynamic threshold. What is meant by dynamic here is the threshold that can adapt to any input image. Otsu’s thresholding method will automatically distinguish foreground area or object that is detected and background area. In this case, Otsu’s method will seek the maximum value of the variance between the foreground (post harvest phase) and background (rice field area with other paddy’s life phase, as well as trees and other plants) as a threshold value to be able to separate the both. The detection of an object area or post harvest phase is successfully done with Otsu’s thresholding process with a threshold value obtained in the input image is 123, 123, 123, 159, dan 123. Color of rice field in blue can be detected with color range 106 for the value of H at a minimum, 24 to a minimum value of S, and 184 for the value of V minimum. Then the maximum value for the range is 116 to H maximum, 49 to a maximum value of S, and 237 V for maximum value, while the color detection wetland with yellow color could be detected with 13 color range for the value of H at a minimum, 67 to a minimum value of S, and 115 for the value of V minimum. Then the maximum value for the range is 27 to H maximum, 88 for the maximum value of S, and 175 V for maximum value. Results binary image from image processing, then combined or overlapping process is done. In the case of testing the accuracy of the calculation after the overlapping process is obtained a different level of error in each input image data row by 545.9% and 1047%, 4.8% and 2.95%, 5.2% and 4.8%, 81.2% and 18:3% and 7.9% and 12.2%.
