KARAKTERISASI DAN ANALISIS GUGUS FUNGSI PADA NANOPARTIKEL MAGNETIK MAGNESIUM FERRIT (MgFe2O4) YANG DILAPISI DENGAN SILIKA (SiO2); CHARACTERIZATION AND BONDING ANALYSIS OF SILLICA (SiO2) COATED MAGNETIC PARTICLES MAGNESIUM FERRIT (MgFe2O4)

MgFe2O4 nanoparticles have been successfully synthesized by mixing MgCl2.6H2O , FeCl3.6H2O, and 5 M NaOH as coprecipitant. The method used is coprecipitation at 90 0C, mixed for 60 minutes, and stirring speed of 1000 rpm. Coated MgFe2O4 have been successful by silica concentration of 50%, 30%, 20%, 15%, 10%, and 5%, characterized MgFe2O4 nanoparticles coated by silica, increase the particle size from 11,02±0,05 nm to 17,86±0,01 nm is inversely proportional to the value of the parameter lattice. The size of crystal, crystal structure, and morphology of the nanoparticles MgFe2O4 were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), while for functional groups bonding contained in MgFe2O4 nanoparticles before and after coating with silica characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Absorption peaks at 2850-3000 occurs C-H stretching indicated due to the presence of silica while the M-O bonding occurs at wave number 400-900 which is bond of metal ion with oxygen ion.
