KARAKTERISASI DAN ANALISA GUGUS FUNGSI PADA NANOPARTIKEL MAGNESIUM FERRITE (MgFe2O4) YANG DILAPISI DENGAN POLIETILEN GLIKOL (PEG-4000); CHARACTERIZATION AND BONDING ANALYSIS OF MAGNESIUM FERRITE (MgFe2O4) NANOPARTICLES COATED WITH POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL (PEG-4000)

Magnetic nanoparticles of Magnesium Ferrite (MgFe2O4) have been succesfully coated with various concentration of PEG-4000. MgFe2O4 powder was synthesized by co-precipitation method. The result of analysis of X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed that the particles size of the samples of MgFe2O4 and MgFe2O4 which coated by PEG-4000 were 10,49 ± 0,03 nm and 5,79 ± 0,02 nm. The addition of PEG-4000 affected the particles size of MgFe2O4. The result of transmission electron microscope (TEM) showed that the morphology of MgFe2O4 samples which have been coated by PEG-4000 had round shape and small size. The result of analysis fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) showed there were shift wavenumbers on MgFe2O4 samples which have been coated by PEG-4000. On wavenumbers 2924,09 cm-1 and 2881,51 cm-1 occur C-H bond which is the constituent bond of PEG-4000. On wavenumbers 378,05 cm-1 and 300,9 cm-1 occur metal oxide (M-O) bond which is the uniform pattern of MgFe2O4.
