KAJIAN SIFAT KEMAGNETAN PADA NANOPARTIKEL MANGANESE FERRITE (MnFe2O4) YANG DIENKAPSULASI DENGAN SILIKA (SiO2); STUDY ON MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF MANGANESE FERRITE (MnFe2O4) NANOPARTICLES ENCAPSULATED WITH SILICA (SiO2)

Manganese ferrite (MnFe2O4) nanoparticles have been successfully encapsulated with various concentration of silica. MnFe2O4 nanoparticles in powder form and synthesized using co-precipitation method. The structure and size of particle were characterized using by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), it showed the increase of nanoparticle size from 13,7 nm to 17,73 nm and existence of ?-Fe2O3 phases. Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) analysis showed the M-O absorption peak in MnFe2O4, shifted towards lower wave number after encapsulated with silica. Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) analysis show the process of encapsulation by silica decreasing saturation magnetization (Ms) and remanen magnetization (Mr) from 18,93 emu/g to 9,72 emu/g and 2,04 emu/g to 1,52 emu/g also increasing of coercivity from 66,51 Oe to 174,70 Oe.
