Finished design and implemented electronic nose based array of gas sensors to discriminate breath of smokers and nonsmokers. Electronic nose system implemented using a gas sensor array various of TGS 822, TGS 2600, TGS 2602, 2611 TGS and TGS 2620. This system adopts the workings of the human nose to detect a sample based on aroma. The aroma from samples produced would detection by the sensor array and converted into digital data. And then result of data analyzed by PCA (Principal Component Analysis). Experiments taking the aroma of breath sample from 4 smokers and 4 nonsmokers. Breath samples from smokers were taken 15-20 minutes after smoking, whereas for non-smokers samples were taken 30 minutes before consuming food or beverages. Sensing process carried out with blowing the smell of the mouth directly into the sensor chamber for 40 seconds and the cleaning process for 120 seconds in 10 times of measurement, in order to obtain valid data, the measurement performed for 7 days. The results showed that the electronic nose could discriminate breath of smokers and nonsmokers. With the results of the sensor response test each sample was obtained value sensor response time was 18.4 s. While the results of the analysis using PCA method obtained with the graph can discriminate for smokers and non-smokers up to 92.5%.
