FABRIKASI DAN KARAKTERISASI NANOFIBER GELATIN DENGAN PENAMBAHAN CO-SOLVENT MELALUI METODE ELECTROSPINNING; FABRICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF GELATIN NANOFIBER WITH ADDITION CO-SOLVENT ON METHOD ELECTROSPINNING

In this study has been made of nanofiber with some variation of acetic acid in gelatin to determine its effect on the gelatin nanofiber morphology. Gelatin solution was made a concentration of 5 wt% to 40 wt% acetic acid variation 10%, 15% and 20% with the addition of co-solvent ethylene glycol 1 ml and without co-solvent ethylene glycol. The ratio of the mass of gelatin: ethyelene glycol 19: 1. Electrospinning process is carried out at a voltage of 15 kV with a distance of 11 cm between the needle tip and the collector. Measurements on gelatin solution include the nature pH, conductivity, viscosity and surface tension. The measurement results showed that the addition of gelatin solution of acetic acid can change the nature of the solution. The higher the viscosity of the solution of gelatin cause the greater diameter of the nanofiber. The greater the conductivity of a solution of gelatin produce uniform nanofiber. The greater the increase in the concentration of gelatin causes the gelatin solution pH value and the value of surface tension tends to increase. Concentration of 30 wt% gelatin using 10% acetic acid, 15% and 20% and the addition of co-solvent ethylene glycol 1 ml without bead-bead. Nanofiber diameter at a concentration of 30 wt% gelatin in a row is 165 ± 12 nm, 190 ± 31 nm, 190 ± 23 nm. While the results of the gelatin nanofiber FTIR absorption peak is lower than the peak of gelatin powder.
