PEMBUATAN DAN KARAKTERISASI FIBER PVA YANG MEMUAT SUPERPARAMAGNETIK Fe3O4 DENGAN METODE ELEKTROSPINING; FABRICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF PVA FIBER LOADING SUPERPARAMAGNETIC Fe3O4 WITH ELECTROSPINNING METHODS

Fiber P olyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) containing Fe3O4 nanoparticles have been successfully prepared by the method electrospining. The fiber is made from a mixture solut ion of Fe3O4 nanoparticles in a solution of 10% PVA with a weight ratio of 10%, 50% and 70%. Electrospining process done at the needle tip from collector distanc e of 15cm with 15kV voltage. Fe3O4 particles bond with PVA known from testing Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR). Test results spectrometer Ultra Violet Visible (UV-Vis) by simply using Visible light with a wavelength of 400-700 nm, indicating hig her absorption values with increasing concentration of Fe3O4 in fiber. Analy sis of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) of each variation of the mass rati o suggests that the higher the ratio of the mass effect on fiber diameter were also gre ater (with a diameter range of 100-300 nm). The calculation of the size of the diameter of the crystal using the Scherrer equation from the X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) show that the Fe3O4 crystal fiber has filled in the smaller sizes (19±1 nm) than in the state of powder (20±2 nm). Analysis of Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) sho w that the Fe3O4 particles 16±8 nm has a larger size, when loaded in fiber (which is 25±10 nm), than in powder form because of agglomeration. Vibrating S ample Magnetometer Analysis (VSM) show that the fiber samples (Fe3O4/PVA) are superparamagnetic with following results: saturation magnetization (Ms), coercivity field (Hc) and remanent magnetization (Mr) ie Ms=83,08 e mu/g, Hc=0,07 kOe and Mr =26 emu/g compared with a sample of Fe3O4 particles that Ms = 29.45 emu/g, Hc = 0.05 kOe and Mr = 8.62 emu/g. This behaviour is caused by the presence of PVA that wrap Fe3O4 particles.
