ANALISIS KOEFISIEN ATENUASI LINIER SEBAGAI UPAYA UNTUK MENGIDENTIFIKASI KEASLIAN BAHAN; THE ANALYSIS OF LINEAR ATTENUATION COEFFICIENT TO IDENTIFY THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE MATERIALS

2012 | Disertasi | PROGRAM STUDI S2 ILMU FISIKAThe research on the effectiveness of the mechanism of attennuation coefficieent measurements using a digital radiography system to identify the authenticity of the oil has been done. The aim of this research is to identify the material attenuation coefficient as a reference or a guide in order to determine the authenticity of the materials as an effort to minimize the falcification of the goods which are sold publicly. The analyzed data is showing the image of pure oil radiography and kerosene mixed oil with various concentration of 95%, 90%, 80%, and 70% mixtures. The software used for analyzing the image of study sample is imageJ and origin8. The research result showed the attenuation coefficiennt of pure oil = (0.0210±0.0008) mm-1 , mixtures of 95% = (0.0200±0.0008) mm-1, mixtures of 90% =(0.0194±0.0008) mm-1, mixtures of 80% =(0.0216±0.0008) mm-1, and mixtures of 70% is (0,0238±0,0009) mm-1. The average correlation coefficient showed a value of 0,96 which means the high intensity correlation between the thickness of the materials and the magnitude of the xray intensity penetrate the materials. Based on the T-test shows that the majority of mixture oil samples can be identified, except during the mixing concentration of 20% 0r 80% oil mixture. However, the difference between the value t0 and t.025, 14 are not significant. The significant differences only emerge when the concentration of mixing 30% or 70% oli mixture. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the research methods using digital xrays radiography as well as being analyzed using imageJ and linear regression by exploiting MS Excel and origin8 software is not effective enough to identify the authenticity of the oil as the mixed oil will be identified clearly when the kerosene mixture reaches 30% or 70% mixed oil sample
