METODE NAIVE BAYES CLASSIFIER UNTUK PENENTUAN JENIS MASALAH MAHASISWA MENGGUNAKAN TEKNOLOGI AGEN; NAIVE BAYES CLASSIFIER METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE TYPE OF STUDENTS PROBLEMS USING AGENT TECHNOLOGY

Academic supervisor should regularly monitor the academic progress and implement counseling services related to students’ problems. In Batam State Polytechnic has been using guardianship application to register a complaint that a student ward. The role of academic supervisor is to determine the type of students’ problems based on complaint data. The interesting issue of this is the possibility of delegating the task to a personal assistant which is a computer software. The academic supervisors should be read complaints one by one to each student and facilitate determining the type of problem students. This mobile intelligent agents based approach software is helpful to determine the type of problem students. This software based intelligent agent is designed by using the Prometheus methodology, and developed through the JADE platform using Java programming language. The development of this model focuses on how the agents can form a classification model that can determine the type of students’ problem. The concept is applied in the agent is based on naive bayes classifier method, the types of problems that are classified are as follows: the difficulties in understanding the lectures, the classroom atmosphere, part-time job, low GPA level, courtship, family life, living cost, off-campus friends, tuition fee, and learning laziness. The results of this research show that the agent can determine the types of students’ problems at test accuracy level of 79,28%. There are three agents involved, resulting in communication between agents, agent migration, and agent learning in determining the type of students’ problem. Therefore, multi-agent systems is also well applied in this study
