2013 | Disertasi | PROGRAM STUDI S2 ILMU FISIKAReceiver function analysis has been done to prove a low velocity anomaly between Merapi volcano and mount Lawu (Merapi Lawu Anomaly) at depth 5-15 km. This method has advantage in modeling the subsurface structure from a three components seismometer. Data were rotated from ZNE component to ZRT component, and the deconvolution of radial to vertical component is used to obtain receiver function response. Inversion of receiver function response is used to reconstruct the earth’s subsurface structure. The result indicates that the Moho discontinuity beneath Central part of Java Island is at depth 28 up to 38 km. In mountain zone the depth of Moho reaches 50 km, except Merapi which has depth of Moho 31 km up to 33 km. The subsurface structure model of mountain from receiver function response proves the Airy concept. We could conclude from the result that MLA zone is detected at depth 5 km up to 15 km between Merapi volcano and Mount Lawu.
