MODEL PERTUMBUHAN ELASTIS DALAM SISTEM TIGA-DIMENSI; A GENERAL FORMULATION OF GROWTH FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL ELASTIC BODY

A stability growth have two main effects. First, a change of mass changes the geometry of the system and critical lengths in stability thresholds. Second, growth may depend on stress. The change of stress may both stabilize or destabilize the growth. To discuss the stability of elastic growth, the theory of finite elasticity is used as a general framework for the mechanical description of elastic properties and growth is taken into account through the multiplicative decomposition of deformation the gradient. First, considered theory systems in one-dimensions to introduce the key concepts. Then review the general three-dimensional theory and show how to apply it to the growth of cylindrical structures and tumour growth model.
