KADAR NATRIUM DALAM DARAH SAPI POTONG BUNTING

Natrium merupakan unsur makromineral esensial yang sangat dibutuhkan untuk fisiologis ternak terutama dalam masa kebuntingan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar makromineral natrium (Na) dalam darah sapi potong pada periode kebuntingan. Dua puluh tujuh ekor sapi potong bunting digunakan dalam penelitian ini berasal dari daerah Sleman (10 ekor), Purwodadi (8 ekor) dan Gunung Kidul (9 ekor). Setiap sapi diambil sampel darah sebanyak 5 ml melalui vena jugularis. Sampel darah yang diperoleh kemudian disentrifugasi selama 10 menit dengan kecepatan 8000 rpm. Natrium dianalisis di Laboratorium Pramita menggunakan Cobas ® 6000 analizer series module c 501. Hasil pemeriksaan kadar natrium pada sapi potong bunting menunjukan nilai rata-rata 142 mmol/L. Hasil tersebut terletak di kisaran nilai normal antara 136-144 mmol/L. Persentasi kadar natrium darah normal sebesar 52% (14 ekor), dibawah nilai normal 11% (3 ekor) dan di atas nilai normal 37% (10 ekor). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa kadar natrium berhubungan dengan kadar kalium dan perbedaan kadar natrium disebabkan karena beberapa faktor antara lain pakan, lingkungan dan cara pemeliharaan, serta kondisi fisiologis dari masing-masing individu sapi.

Sodium is essential macromineral that important for physiological processes in animals especially during pregnancy. This study was conducted to know the level of sodium (Na) in blood of pregnancy cow. Twenty seven beef cattles were used in this study comes from Sleman (10 cattles), Purwodadi (8 cattles) and Gunung Kidul (9 cattles). Five ml blood were taken from jugular vein as the sample. All blood samples were centrifuged at 8000 rpm for 10 min. Sodium serum was analyzed using Cobas ® 6000 module c 501. The result from serum sodium analyzed on pregnancy cows, on average, 142 mmol/L. Those results were in the range of normal values 136-144 mmol/L. Percentage of normal blood sodium level were 52% (14 cattles), under normal value of 11% (3 cattles), and above normal value of 37% (10 cattles). Based on the result of this study, it was conclude that sodium level associated with level of potassium and the difference of sodium level was caused by some factors such as feed, environment and husbandry management, also physiological condition from each cattles.
