PERTAMBAHAN BERAT BADAN DAN PERKEMBANGAN OVARIUM DOMBA BETINA SETELAH PEMBERIAN KONSENTRAT KULIT PISANG (Musa spp)

2014 | Skripsi |Kulit pisang adalah limbah yang masih mempunyai kandungan nutrisi yang baik dan dapat digunakan untuk pakan domba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi peningkatan berat badan domba dan perkembangan ovarium setelah pemberian konsentrat kulit pisang dibandingkan dengan kelompok domba yang diberi konsentrat komersil. Dua belas ekor domba betina dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok. Masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 3 ekor. Kelompok kontrol diberi pakan campuran Pollard dengan bekatul. Kelompok perlakuan I diberi tepung kulit pisang 10% kedalam campuran 90% Pollard dan bekatul. Kelompok perlakuan II diberi tepung kulit pisang 30% kedalam campuran 70% Pollard dan bekatul. Kelompok perlakuan III diberi tepung kulit pisang 50% kedalam campuran 50% Pollard dan bekatul. Penelitian ini berlangsung selama empat minggu. Penimbangan berat badan dilakukan setiap seminggu sekali dan dicatat perkembangan berat badannya. Pada minggu perlakuan, dilakukan USG untuk melihat ukuran ovarium domba. Data berat badan ditabulasi dan dicari rata-rata selisih peningkatan pertumbuhan berat badan dari minggu akhir dengan minggu pertama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian ekstrak kulit pisang pada kelompok P1, P2 dan P3 dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan berat badan domba dengan rata-rata masing-masing berurutan 2,13 kg; 1,76 kg; 1,4 kg. Rata-rata lebar ovarium setelah perlakuan yaitu K = 1,27cm; P1 = 1,27cm; P2= 1,30cm; P3 = 1.37cm. Hasil analisis dengan stastistik test (anova) terhadap berat badan dan lebar ovarium tidak menunjukan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara domba kelompok perlakuan dengan domba kelompok kontrol sehingga kulit pisang dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti konsentrat komersil ternak domba.
Banana peel is a waste product of banana which contains adequate nutrition and can be used as sheep feed. This study aimed to find out the condition of sheep body weight gain and ovary development after being fed with banana peels concentrate and compare it to the sheep group which is fed with commercial concentrate. . Twelve female growing sheep were randomly divided into 4 groups of 3 ewes. The groups were K (control) = being fed with pollard concentrate and bran, P1 = being fed 10% banana peels concentrate, 90% pollard concentrate and bran, P2 = being fed 30% banana peels concentrate, 70% pollard concentrate and bran, and P3 = being fed 50% banana peels concentrate, 50% pollard concentrate and bran. This research had been done for four weeks. Weighing every once a week to measure the weight gain every week. During this week, USG was used to measure the ovary size and development. Body weight data were tabulated and used to determine the average weight differences from the first week and last week during the experiment. The results indicated that adding banana peels concentrate to ewe in group P1, P2, and P3 had increased the body weight for each group (P1=2,13 kg; P2 = 1,76 kg; P3 = 1,4 kg) and the average of ovary diameter size of each group K = 1,27 cm; P1 = 1,27 cm; P2= 1,30 cm; P3 = 1.37 cm. Statistically, there were no significant difference between the groups of ewe which were being fed with pollard concentrate and the group of ewe which was being fed with banana peels concentrate, so that banana peel can be used as an alternative to replace the commercial concentrate for sheep
