PENGARUH DOSIS INFEKSI OOSISTA Eimeria tenella TERHADAP DERAJAT LESI SEKUM PADA AYAM BROILER

Koksidiosis merupakan penyakit saluran pencernaan yang disebabkan oleh protozoa dari Genus Eimeria. Genus Eimeria tersebut menyebabkan kerusakan usus sehingga menurunkan efisiensi penggunaan pakan, penurunan bobot badan, penurunan daya tahan tubuh dan penurunan produksi telur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis infeksi oosista Eimeria tenella terhadap keparahan yang ditimbulkannya dengan parameter lesi yang terjadi pada sekum. Penelitian ini menggunakan 12 ekor ayam broiler yang dipelihara sejak Day Old Chick (DOC) sampai berumur 23 hari. Ayam dikelompokkan menjadi empat kelompok, masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari tiga ekor ayam. Kelompok I (sebagai kontrol), kelompok II (diinfeksi 5.000 oosista Eimeria tenella), kelompok III (diinfeksi 10.000 oosista Eimeria tenella), kelompok IV (diinfeksi 15.000 oosista Eimeria tenella). Umur 18 hari, setiap kelompok ayam diinfeksi dengan oosista Eimeria tenella dengan dosis sesuai kelompoknya secara oral menggunakan pipet khusus. Lima hari setelah infeksi, semua ayam dinekropsi untuk melihat derajat lesi sekum. Data derajat lesi sekum dianalisis dengan metode Rank test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok ayam yang diinfeksi oosista Eimeria tenella dengan dosis 5.000 oosista, 10.000 oosista dan 15.000 oosista menunjukkan tingkat keparahan lesi sekum yang berbeda-beda (P<0,05). Semakin tinggi dosis infeksi oosista Eimeria tenella, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat derajat lesi sekum.

Coccidiosis is gastrointestinal disease caused by protozoa of the Genus of Eimeria. The Genus of Eimeria cause damage to the intestine resulting decreased feed efficiency, decreased body weight, decreased of stamina and decreased egg production. This research aims to determine the effect of dose of Eimeria tenella oocyst infection on the severity of the lesions caused by the parameters that occur in the cecum. This research used 12 broiler chickens reared since Day Old Chick (DOC) until the age of 23days. Chickens are classified into four groups, each group consisting of three chickens. Group I (as a control), group II (5.000 infected by oocyst of Eimeria tenella), group III (10.000 infected oocyst of Eimeria tenella), group IV (15.000 infected oocyst of Eimeria tenella). Age of 18 days, each group of chickens infected with Eimeria tenella oocyst dose according to the group orally using a special pipette. Five days after infection, all chickens necropted to see the degree of lesions of cecum. Data degrees cecum lesions were analyzed by the method of Rank test. The result showed that the group of chickens infected with oocyst of Eimeria tenella oocyst dose of 5.000, 10.000 and 15.000 oocyst show lesion severity cecum different (P<0.05). The higher dose oocyst of Eimeria tenella infection, the higher the degree of lesion of the cecum.
