EnampuluhekorDOCdibagimenjadi3kelompokdenganmasing-masingkelompokterdiridari20ekorayam.Kelompok1(kontrol)diberipakandanminumtanpapemacupertumbuhan,kelompok2(AGP)diberipakandanminumditambahsediaanvirginiamisin5g/kgpadapakan,dankelompok3(sinbiotik)diberipakandanminumditambah3ml/Lprobiotikdan2ml/Lprebiotikpadaairminum.Penelitiandilakukanselama35haridikandangayamUP2KHFakultasKedokteranHewanUGM.Ayamdinekropsikemudiandiambilduodenum,jejunum,ileum,sekum,dankolonuntukdibuatpreparathistologisertadiukurpanjangdanlebarvilinya.Datadiambildarijumlahpakan,beratbadan,FeedConversionRatio(FCR),sertapanjangdanlebarviliusus.AnalisisdatadilakukandenganAnalysisofVariance(ANOVA)dengantingkatkepercayaan95%. Terdapatperbedaanyangsignifikan(P<0,05)panjangviliduodenum,jejunum,dankolonpadakelompoksinbiotikdibandingkelompokkontroldanpadaduodenum,jejunum,dansekumkelompoksinbiotikdibandingkankelompokAGP.Lebarviliduodenum,jejunum,ileum,dankolonpadakelompoksinbiotikberbedanyata(P<0,05)terhadapkelompokkontroldanduodenum,jejunum,dankolonkelompoksinbiotikdibandingkandengankelompokAGP.Pertambahanberatbadanselama5minggudiketahuiterdapatperbedaanyangnyata(P<0,05)kecualipadamingguke-2dan3.FCRmenunjukkanperbedaanyangnyata(P<0,05)antarkelompokpadasetiapminggu.Darihasilpenelitiandapatdisimpulkanbahwapemberiansinbiotikdapatmeningkatkanpanjangdanlebarviliusus,meningkatkanpertambahanberatbadanayam,sertadapatmenurunkannilaiFCRsehinggasinbiotikdapatdigunakansebagaisalahsatualternatifpenggantiAGP. Overthepastfewdecades,antibioticshavebeenusedasgrowthpromotersinpoultrydiettoimproveanimalperformanceandtoobtaineconomicbenefits.Severalnegativeeffectthatposedbyuseantibiotic,increaseinteresttofindalternativesantibioticsinpoultryproduction.TheaimofthisstudytoknowtheeffectofsinbioticderivedfromBacillussubtilisasprobioticandSaccharomycescerevisiaecellwallcombinationaoneofantibioticgrowthpromoters(AGP)inbroilers. Sixtydayoldbroilerschicksallottedrandomlyto3groupof20each.Thefirstgroup(controlgroup)wasfednormaldiet(withoutgrowthpromoter).Thesecondgroup(AGPgroup)wasfeddietwithvirgyniamycin5g/kg.Thethirdgroup(sinbioticgroup)wasfeddietwithprobiotic3ml/Landprebiotic2ml/Lindrinkingwater.Theexperimentlasted35daysinUP2KHFakultasKedokteranHewanUGM.Fivebroilersfromeachgroupwerenecropsizedandsegmentsofduodenum,jejunum,ileum,caecum,andcolonwereremovedforhystologicalpreparation.Thelongandwideofintestinalvillusweremeasuredhystological.Thedataweretakenfromfeed,bodyweight,FeedConversionRatio(FCR),andthelengthandwidthofintestinalvilli.AnalysisofVariancewithconfidence95%wereusedtoanalizethedata. Therearesignificantdifferences(P<0,05)thelengthvilliofduodenum,jejunum,andcoloninsinbioticgroupagainstcontrolgroupandonduodenum,jejunum,andcaecumcomparedwithAGPgroup.Thewidthofthevilliduodenum,jejunum,ileum,andcoloninsinbioticgroupsignificantlydifferent(P<0.05)againstcontrolgroup.Significantdifferences(P<0.05)werealsoseeninwidthofvilliduodenum,jejunum,andcolonsinbioticgroupwhencomparedwithAGPgroup.Statisticalanalysisofweightgainduring5weeksknowntohavesignificantdifferences(P<0.05)betweengroupsexceptatweek2and3.AnalysisofFCRshowedthattherearesignificantdifferences(P<0.05)betweengroupsonaweeklybasis.Basedonthisresearchknownthatsinbioticincreasedlengthandwidthintestinalvilli,bodyweightgain,anddecreasedFCR,.Fromthisresearchcanbeconcludedthatsinbioticcanbeusedasreplacementforantibioticgrowthpromoter.K eywords:broiler,sinbiotic,Bacillussubtilis,Saccharomycescerevisiae
