Application of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are now experiencing a lot of growth, especially its use in mapping. Utilization of GIS in the mapping of land suitability based landing area function in Kebumen District is the right step to determine the suitability of land use, so the land can be used optimally based on land characteristics and functions of the region. The purpose of this study include: 1) Mapping Land Use in the Kebumen District in 2015; 2) Mapping Land suitability based landing area function in the Kebumen District. Materials used in this research that utilize Landsat 8 Band 563 is used to produce a land use map is done by manual interpretation. 563 bands on Landsat 8 is great is used to distinguish between vegetated land cover and without vegetation. The method used in this research is to use analysis of overlayingwith tiered quantitative pengharkatan against parameter soil type, slope, and precipitation as well as specific criteria to produce landing area fuction map. Overlay also use to analyst Land use map and landing area function map to produce land suitability based landing area fuction map. Land suitability based landing area fuction map is done with the help of the software ArcGIS. The results showed that the land use in the form of Kebumen include Thicket 10,52%; Sawah 27,45%; Gardens mixture of 6,14%; Moor of 8,21%; Reservoir 0,18%; Settlement 23,64%; Plantation 2,52%; Sand Beach 0,72% and 20,62% Forest.
