PENGARUH PARTISIPASI, KETERLIBATAN, EKSEKUTIF DAN KONDISI ORGANISASIONAL PERUSAHAAN DALAM MANAJEMEN TEKNOLOGI INFORMASI

Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan bukti empiris tentang pengaruh bentuk dukungan eksekutif berupa partisipasi dan keterlibatannya dalam manajemen teknologi informasi, serta kondisi organisasional perusahaan terhadap keprogresifan penggunaan teknologi informasi dalam perusahaan yang bersangkutan.
Obyek penelitian adalah perusahaan yang pemasaran produk dan jasanya sangat dipengaruhi oleh teknologi informasi. Perusahaan yang menjadi obyek adalah perusahaan perbankan dan penerbitan. Respondennya adalah pimpinan departemen teknologi dan sistem informasi atau satu level di bawahnya.
Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mail survey. Kuesioner dirancang untuk mengumpulkan data-data partisipasi, keterlibatan CEO dan data-data lain yang diduga berpengaruh terhadap kemajuan TI. Data yang terkumpul sampai dengan tanggal pengolahan data sebanyak 38 kuesinoner dengan tingkat responsi sebesar plusminus 20%. Setelah data terkumpul, dianalisis untuk menguji hipotesis yang diajukan dengan alat analisis path. Untuk pengolahan data digunakan program Amosdraw. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh partisipasi dan keterlibatan eksekutif dalam manajemen TI terhadap keprogresifan penggunaan teknologi informasi yang digunakan dalam perusahaan relatif terhadap pesaing adalah kurang signifikan. Demikian pula pengaruh latar belakang eksekutif dan kondisi organisasional perusahaan terhadap keterlibatan eksekutif dalam manajemen TI. Hasil penelitian ini tidak sama dengan hasil penelitian- penelitian sebelumnya. Namun pengaruh positif partisipasi
eksekutif terhadap keterlibatannya dalam manajemen TI cukup signifikan.
The study aimed to give empirically evidents what executive supports to progressive use of the information
technology in the firm relatively with the competitors.
The subjects of this study are business firms whose products and services need the advanced technology to
compete. The respondents are managers of The Technology
and Information System Departement or a level below. Data
are collected by mail survey. Respondents who sent the questioners back are 38 (response rate plusminus 20%).
Data will be analized with path analysis under Amosdraw
program.The results suggest that executive participation
and involvement are not significantly associated with the
firm's progressive use of information technology. This
result is not consistent with the results of the some
studies before. But the executive participation strongly associated with the executive involvement in the information technology management. Other variables like organizational conditions and executive background are also not significantly associated with the executive involvement. The limitations of this study are less respondents, that is uncontrollable by the examiner. The less respondent leads to the result of this study can not be used to estimate the population.
