ANALISIS HUBUNGAN STRES KERJA, KEPRIBADIAN, DAN KINERJA MANAJER BANK STUDI PADA KANTOR CABANG BANK DI YOGYAKARTA

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui sejauhmana stres kerja berhubungan dengan kinerja, bagaimana peran faktor kepribadian sebagai variabel moderator dalam hubungan antara stres keija dan kineija, serta ingin mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan tingkat stres keija pada dua tipe kepribadian yang berdeda (tipe A dan tipe B). Dengan mempergunakan manajer bank yang berlokasi di DIY sebagai obyek penelitian, responclen diminta untuk menjawab

daftar pertanyaan balk yang diantar maupun yang dikirim melalui jasa pos. Stres keija mengacu pada model Ivancevich dan Matteson (1982), faktor kepribadian mengacu pada model Bortuer (1996) dan Goldberg (1978), serta kineija mengacu

pada Mahoney dkk. (1963).

Penelitian ini menggunakan alat analisis regresi sederhana, analisis hierarchical regression, dan uji beda dua mean populasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan (r-459) antara stres keija

clan kineija. Kemudian , dart analisis hierarchical regression menunjukkan variabel kepribadian secara signifikan (t=2.718; p=0.05) memoderati hubungan stres keija-kineija. Sedangkan, dart uji beda dua mean populasi menunjukkan manajer yang berkepribadian tipe A secara signifikan memiliki tingkat stres yang lebih tinggi dibandinkan dengan manajer yang berkepribadian tipe B.

This study is aimed to find out to what extent job stress has relationship with performance, and in what way the personality factor as the moderator variable plays its roles in connection with job stress and performance relationship,

and also to find out whether there are any different levels of job stress between two different types of personality (type A and type B).

The objects of the study consist of bank managers who work in Daerah istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY). These managers are asked to answer the questionnaire which delivered to them either directly or by mail. Job stress variable is measured with twenty five items developed by Ivancevich and Matteson (1982), personality factor is measured with eighteen items developed by Butner (1966) and Goldberg (1978), and performance questionnaire is measured with nine items developed by Mahoney, et al. (1963).

The findings of this study is gained by using the simple regression

analysis, hierarchical regression analysis and test of the difference between two population means. From the findings of the study, it is shown that there is a significant negative relationship ( r-459) between job stress and performance. Then , from the hierarchical regression analysis, it is shown that personality

variable significantly ( t=2.718, p=0.05) moderates job stress - performance relationship. Whereas , from the test of difference between two population means,

it is shown that those managers with type A personality significantly have higher level of stress than those with type B personality.
