Analisis kinerja dan reaksi pasar pada perusahaan yang terdaftar di corporate governance perception index

Penelitian ini menguji kinerja operasi pada perusahaan yang terdaftar di Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI) dan reaksi pasar seputar pengumuman corporate governance pada perusahaan yang terdaftar di CGPI. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan proxy ROE Sebagai pengukuran kinerja operasi perusahaan, sedangkan untuk reaksi pasar ditunjukkan dengan adanya abnormal return seputar pengumuman corporate governance. Pengujian pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan 2 langkah yaitu secara pool dan split selama empat tahun perioda penelitian yaitu 2001-2004.
Pengujian terhadap 646 perusahaan sampel yang terdaftar di BEJ, dilakllkan dengan membagi kedalam dua kelompok sampel yaitu perusahaan yang terdaftar di CGPI dan yang tidak terdaftar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan¬-perusahaan yang terdaftar di CGPI rata-rata memiliki kinerja operasi yang lebih besar dari pada yang tidak terdaftar baik secara pool dan split yang ditunjukkan dengan arumya pengaruh positif signifikan, sedangkan pengujian reaksi pasar menunjukkan hasil positif tidak signifikan yang mengindikasikan bahwa pengumuman corporate governance tidak menimbulkan reaksi pasar.
This research examined operation performance in companies listed on Corporate Governance Perception Index (COPI) and market reactions around corporate govem.mce announcement in companies listed on COPI. This research used proxy ROE as company operation performance measurement, while market reaction showed by abnormal return around the announcement of corporate governance. The examination of this research had been conducted in two ways, pool and split for four year research period of 2001-20)4.
The examination toward 646 sample companies listed on BEJ was conducted by dividing them into 2 sample groups, those are companies listed on CGPI and the unlisted ones. The result of the research showed that the companies listed on CGPI have bigger operation performance than the unlisted ones, either in pool or split which indicated by significantly positive influence. On the other hand, the examination of market reaction showed the insignificantly positive result indicating that the announcement of corporate governance not made the market reaction.
